Dr. Marshall is an amazing surgeon. He has great bedside manner. He is very knowledgable and extremely helpful. Dr. Marshall has a great sense of humor and has a very caring personality. As I waited in pre-op I was very nervous, and Dr. Marshall came in and he was able to calm me down. He is very confident and it showed right through. I even had to page him once I was home and he called me back within 5 minutes. Even at the follow up appointments with him he makes sure you are taken care of and he makes you feel important. I would recommend him to anyone and have done so already! His office staff is very helpful as well. They go out of their way to accomodate you. Dr. Marshall changed my life for the better. Thank you Dr. Marshall!
I love Dr. Marshall he is very nice and knows his stuff and I’m happy to have him as my surgeon The office was clean and nice staff was about the business of the patients Future patients should feel at ease talking to Dr. Marshall he has been doing his thing for a long time.
I had laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery done Feb. 9, 2010 by Dr. Marshall. It is now April 2010 and I have lost close to 60 lbs and it feels awesome. I am able to go for daily walks and able to enjoy them. Dr. Marshall is a wonderful surgeon, he has an excellent bedside manner and he takes time for his patients and their families. Saying thank you may not be enough for the way you have helped me already, but again…Thank you so much for helping me to a healthier lifestyle Dr. Marshall!!! :):):) (We need more like you).
I feel incredibly blessed to have Dr. Keith Marshall as my surgeon. From meeting him at the informational seminar, it was clear that this physician was completely committed to the well being of each patient. It is rare to find such an established surgeon take special care to listen to his patient’s concerns and address each one. As the pre-surgical process unfolded , I was amazed at how effortless the team made this seem. Dr.Marshall has so much to offer bariatric patients–I feel so fortunate to have had such a positive experience because of this gifted and caring surgeon.
I had a Sleeve done by Dr Keith Marshall 10/07/2011. I cannot tell how how many ways it has changed my life. Dr Marshall has been there all the way for me. From explaining the surgery, being there for my aftercare and then my follow up. My daughter also had a sleeve done by Dr Marshall 10/12/2011. He treats you like a person and is easy to get a hold of if you have questions or concerns. This was important to me especially after surgery. You can page him directly and he calls you back in a timely manner. Have not once regretted my surgery or my choice in Surgeons. His office staff is very caring also
Dr. Marshall has my respect. I had The Sleeve 8/10/11, no complications, no pain and he had great bed side manners to boot. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. His office staff is professional and attentive. I am down 90 lbs and I feel great.
I had my surgery on February 22, 2011 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr. Keith Marshall is a fantastic and caring surgeon and the team at the Bariatric Center in Warren are wonderful. Today I would just like to say to Dr. Marshall, I am sending my well wishes and remember ….. walk, walk walk!!!
I just love Dr. Marshall, he is funny and kind and understanding! Whenever I see him at my follow-ups I call him Skinny Minny because he had the surgery too which I like because he really knows what you’re going through and even if he didn’t have the surgery he is still a wonderful surgeon. In fact my husband is having the surgery and want Dr. Marshall to do his also!
My first impression of Dr Marshall was that he was wonderful, funny and very knowledgable and sure knows his business,,,,,asl time went on I only confirmed all that to be true and more, He is the BEST. I love him, I would never recommend anyone else, He’s kind, patient , caring, always has time for you no matter how busy he is and on top of all that he is a good, good, good doctor, His staff is excellent and I’ve never been in the hospital on a unit where EVERYONE is so so nice,,,,they care, they are helpful, and Dr Marshall insists that every one be very friendly and curteous, it is wonderful on the bariatric unit at the hospital where Dr marshall does his thing,,,,,,,AND AFTER ALL THAT, He also does all his own tummy tucks and all that, and if there are complications, bowel no matter what, he does it all…….HE IS JUST FABULOUS………….I’m sorry the only thing negative I can say is its a ways to drive if you don’t live near Detroit, If you don’t believe thats all bad, I can say, go to his web site and you’ll see all the testemonials are the same way,,,,,,He’s unbelievable
My first impression was that I really liked this guy and I made up my mind right then that I would have surgery and he would do it. I am 3 weeks post surgery and I still have the highest opinion of him. Dr Marshall and all his crew are the best!!.
I do not have one negative thing to say about him.
I love Dr. Marshall he is very nice and knows his stuff and I’m happy to have him as my surgeon The office was clean and nice staff was about the business of the patients Future patients should feel at ease talking to Dr. Marshall he has been doing his thing for a long time. You can visit Dr. Marshall with/without insurance he tells you he is responsible for you.

Meeting with Dr. Marshall in his office just prior to my surgery exceeded my expectations of his role in this life changing step. Our discussion of “informed consent” was provided in such a thorough yet reassuring manner. His years caring for bariatric patients, both inside and outside the operating room, was clearly evident. During my hospitalization and in the recent weeks following my surgery, his availability, interest in my personal success, and support has remained strong. Dr.Marshall has so much to offer bariatric patients–I feel so fortunate to have had such a positive experience because of this gifted and caring surgeon.
Dr. Marshall is a great guy. He explained everything to me in terms I could easily understand and has a great sense of humor. His office staff is great too, friendly and efficient. He also makes sure you are doing the right things to get the maximum benifit from your surgery and become truely healthy.
Dr Marshall is a wonderful surgeon and I am so happy with what he did for my mom and myself. He is very clot conscious which is good I think. Dr. Marshall’s office staff are great ladies. They will answer any questions that you may have. I have to say that Dr. Marshall is a very busy man and at our last appointment we were there just short of 2 hours only seeing him for 20 minutes at the most. He is very specific about the vitamin supplements you should be taking and expresses the importance of regular excercise. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent. NO complaints here.
VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE VERY PERSONABLE
MY OPINION HAS NOT CHANGED
THEY ARE VERY COURTIOUS AND HELPFUL ESPECIALLY HELPING GET APPOINTMENTS AS I COME FROM CANADA TO MICHIGAN
I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT DR. MARSHALL
HE IS VERY ABRUPT AND TO THE POINT
HIS WHOLE SURGICAL PROCEDURE IS BUILT AROUND AFTERCARE
YES IT’S ALL STRUCTURED AT HENRYFORD HOSPITAL
I WAS TOLD OF RISKS DURING ALL MY PRESURGERY INTERVIEWS.IWAS ALSO TOLD WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF PROBLEMS.
HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE IS GREAT. DR. MARSHALL WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO GET ME OUT OF BED AND WALK ME AROUND THE HOSPITAL AFTER SURGERY.TO ME THIS SHOWS HOW MUCH HE CARES ABOUT MY RECOVERY
MINE WAS A VERY REWARDING EXPERIENCE.
I HAD MY 1 YEAR EVALUATION MARCH 15 2010 . EVERYTHING HAS GONE SO WELL , IT IS ALL BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS . I CAN’T THANK DR. MARSHALL AND HIS STAFF ENOUGH . THEY HAVE TRUELY HELPED ME SAVE MY LIFE .
My first impression of Dr. Marshall was that he was down to earth and extremely funny. (MY kind of guy) He was patient and answered everyones questions. (I met him at a info. seminar at a LivLite meeting)
Since then I have had my consultation with him, talked about the surgery and which one he wants to do and why. I am trusting him with my life…he just gives that kind of aura off. Great guy and from what I hear from everyone who has gone to him, a great surgeon.
He emphasizes your aftercare HEAVILY..starts out by saying that you may die if you do not have the surgery and you will die if you do not follow post op instructions and do the post care with him.
You have a 30 page document of aftercare to follow and his phone and pager number to call 24/7.
He sits down at the consultation for 1½ hrs and talks about the risks and the different kinds of surgery and why he does the procedure he does and why it will work for you if you work with it.
He is terrific!!!!
First Impression: This Dr. takes the time to come to teaching seminars and actually tells people when he thinks they are not candidates for surgery! He wants people to make informed decisions. My impression never changed. He was always kind, asked for feedback, thanked me for calling and waking him up in the middle of the night. Always took the time in the office to sit with patients and answer EVERY question. Never, in the entire process, did I feel alone or like I didn’t know what to do. His office staff are very thorough and supportive. My favorite thing about Dr.Marshall was his sense of humor and his ability to actually sit down and empathize with the patient. Future patients should know that they will be very well cared for, and that he is honest and always respectful. I am an ontario patient with OHIP funding which means that only a small number of office visits are paid for. He doesnt care. He brings you in the office as much as you need until you are feeling perfect. Dr. Marshall not only gave a lecture at the information seminar, but also prior to surgery where he explained, in detail, the surgery and the risks.I would rate Dr. Marshall and his partner, Dr.Pesta as both 100 out of ten. I have never had medical care of this quality.rnI could not choose what Dr. Marshall is better at, he couldnt be better at either. I love him for the change that has come about in my life!
I think that Dr. Marshall is 100%. Excellent bedside manner, and would recommend him to anyone. The whole experience was a sucsess. All nurses and doctors were able to help you with all your concerns. Even housecleaning staff want to help in what ever way possible. The whole hospital time way very calming and relaxing. They get you moving to look after yourself
Dr. Marshall is the most down to earth doc i no.. the way my husband put it is old school!!!! there is nothing i don’t like about him.for future patients if Dr.Marshall is your doctor relax he explains everything to the way it is.his surgical competence, bedside manner are both great!!
Dr. Marshall first impressed me as being very laid back and personal.
He is very informed and ggod at what he does. His bedside manner is just great. He’s very straight with you but yet he’s sensitive as to the way he explains things to you. You are given his office and pager number and he is very involved in the aftercare. All follow ups are at his office, he doesn’t just send you back to your primary or family doctor. I would recommend him to any of my own family and or freinds.
Basically, if you are looking for a competent and well bedside mannered doctor, Dr. Marshall is both of these.
I was so nervous meeting him Yesterday (may 23/07) . I think I am making the right choice and he is the Dr to do it. I have this wonderful feeling it was ment to be. I had my surgery Sept 14 th. His bedisde manor and just his way of talking to you makes you feel like a person and not just a number. I would reccommend anyone who is thinking of having wls to just go and talk to him. He will but a whole new light on it, this is his calling. Thank you Dr Marshall for this brand new start in life. The team of Drs that he works with are all caring and down to earth people. The staff at the hospital I cannot say enough about. The pre-op classes are filled with information this is life altering and the classes help you understand that. Thank you just does not say enough.
I went with my mother and husband for my first office visit and was very comfortable and confident when I left the office. Dr. Marshall took the time to explain not only the surgery I was having but also why he felt it was a good choice for me. My mother, who was a bit leary, left the office with a positive, supportive attitude, as did my husband. He took the time to answer any questions the three of us had, gave me his pager number (I’ve never had a doctor do that). The staff was friendly and well informed and I am looking forward to seeing him in the operating room!!! Between the classes that are offered at the hospital, taught by the clinic staff, to Dr. Kinner…everything has been wonderful.
First Impression of Dr Marshall.Great sense of humour!! Which was much needed….lol. He is also Brutally honest, which is a good thing for persons who are considering this surgery. A Dr. who really cares about his patients…not many doctors would give you his personal pager number just to make sure all of your questions are answered post op. His staff is amazing. The Program Manager is a wonderful person. They have a great after care program and as I mentioned above he will even give you his pager number to ensure you feel safe. I would rate Dr. Marshall and his staff a perfect 10!!! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!!!
Feb. 13, 2007
Dr. Marshall was so nice when I meet him at my consultation, he explained everything to me and I was very confident in him. He visited me everyday at the hospital after my wls. His staff is wonderful (Two Thumbs Up!) Dr. Marshall gives his patients his pager number so we can reach him if needed.
Dr.Marshall is the best.He gave me his cell phone number after surgery in case I had a question or problem.I got a wound infection and he called me every day to make sure I was doing better and not so worried.Even after surgery(I’m 22 months out) He is still there for questions or concerns. He is one in a million!!!!!
Dr. Marshall is very personable and very knowledgeable. His staff is very helpful. He was very thorough in regards to what happens during surgery and the possible side effects. He has always taken the time to answer all my questions during visits. This puts him somewhat behind on keeping appointment times, but you know he will take the time to talk with you as well as others.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Marshall. He is experienced, kind, compasionate, and has a sense of humor too! I completely trust him. His office staff is wonderful. Aftercare is very important to Dr. Marshall. He even gives patients his personal pager number which I had hever heard of before. I would recommend Dr. Marshall to anyone considering WLS.
My first impression of him was very good. He was very polite and concerned. He explained in detail about the surgery and was never rushed. I became more impressed with him over time. He really knows his field and is caring. He gives you his office number, fax number, as well as his pager number and calls back very quickly no matter the time of day. He never gets upset if you call and need something and is always understanding. The only time he is delayed in calling back is when he is in surgery and even then he calls as soon as he is out.
The office staff could not be nicer, they knew more about me than just as a patient and are always friendly and willing to answer any questions.
The only negative thing is because he is so thorough with all his patients and takes time with everyone, the wait in the waiting room can be long at times. However, I was never bothered by this because all the patients sit and talk and have a mini support group meeting while we wait. He is very concerned with after care, he always asks about how eating is going, and always emphasizes vitamins and minerals, and exercise. He is also so helpful in teaching anything that you need to learn. He prescribes a blood thinner immediate post op for about a week and then puts everyone on vitamin B12 shots and is more than happy to teach how to give them. He was extremely thorough in explaining all the risks, not only what they are, why they happen, what he does to prevent complications, what happens if it something would happen, and how he will treat them. On a scale of 1-10, I would give Dr. Marshall a 20. I cannot stress how much I liked and recommend him. Also, I would like to say that I was able to shadow Dr. Marshall before my surgery (because I am also interested in Osteopathic medicine, and he let me shadow him and then wrote me a recommendation letter which helped me get accepted into Osteopathic medical school). So I can tell you first hand that he is very competent in the operating room, I know not only from my surgery, but also observing him operate. So I can tell you with confidence that Dr. Marshall has great surgical competence and wonderful bedside manner. He is the best doctor I have ever had. I would recommend Dr. Marshall to anyone who is considering having gastric bypass surgery.
Dr. Mashall is absolutely wonderful. He’s eliminated all my fears in the matter of minutes. He described the surgery so simply, that I feel confident I could do it. 🙂 Very professional and down to earth. His supporting staff is polite and professional. I believe I’m going to enjoy being his patient.
